The Event Consists of:
Saturday 26th October 2024 – Short Course
Sunday 27th October 2024 – Enduro
The format maybe reversed (i.e. Enduro on Saturday) for adverse weather conditions.
Gridding for the Enduro will be based on your fastest short-course lap time
Where: Swensson’s Farm 536 Burnside Road, Makarau
CAMPING: Available from Friday 25th in the pits. Portaloo’s & Showers on site. Cost will be $25.00 per night per site with a gold coin donation for the showers. You are responsible for all your own rubbish, please take it with you. No Drinking water on site. You will need to bring your own drinking water and refreshments. NO DOGS AT THIS VENUE.
Spectators $15.00 per head
Juniors under 12 Free
Services: There will be a food caravan & coffee cart at the track.
Prize Giving: This will be held Sunday evening at the track from around 5.30pm – followed by a bonfire party with live band.
Race Entry includes 1 free meal. Extra meals for crew, supporters, etc can be ordered on the entry form. BYO and own chairs
ORDER OF REGISTRATION & PRE-RACE CHECKS
1. Drivers and Passengers to sign in & complete all paper work, get armbands and inspection sheet. You will need log book & ORANZ card.
2. Get Race Gear Checked.
3. Take Vehicle to be checked As per ORANZ rules: NO 2024 Tag – No Race. All Vehicles must be tagged prior to the event. NO tagging will be done at track.
Friday 25th October 2024 – Setup and camping available Gates open 10am
Saturday 26th October – Pre-race check and Short Course 7.30-10am Pre-race checks 10 am Driver’s Briefing. ALL DRIVERS & PASSENGERS MUST ATTEND. There will be a roll call 10:30am Racing Starts Short Course as per ORANZ rules. 5 lap heats plus feature/ features.
Sunday 27rd October 2024 – ENDURO: The Enduro will be held at the same venue 8.30-9.30 am Time trials for those only doing the Enduro – will be a standing start sprint 10.00am Driver’s Briefing. ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND 10.30am Kiwi Truck mini enduro 11.30am Racing starts.
Entry Details: Grid positions for the first heat on the Saturday will be in the order of paid entry.
Entries must be received 24th October 2024.
There are three events in one at Makarau this Labour Weekend.
1. The ORANZ Championship trophies are on the line.
2. This is the last round of the ORANZ championship and has its own trophies to be won.
3. The Enduro will also decide who wins the Alan Tutt Memorial Trophy.
4. Like at Tect Park, earlier this season, we are offering a Clubman race for half the standard entry fee.
PLEASE NOTE: Clubman class racing is only available for ORANZ members who paid the STANDARD ORANZ FEE, rather than the premium fee. If you paid the PREMIUM ORANZ membership fee, you will be racing in the national championship competition.
Download the normal entry form from the website. Write “Clubman Entry” on it and pay half the listed price (It’ll cost you $245). You will be in a separate group of racers, not competing for points or trophies. The Non-Championship “Clubman” racers can race in their own heats and brackets without winning trophies.
Race Car Pit Parking: On arrival, please obey the signs and the parking marshal. Only vehicles towing race cars will be allowed into the pit area.
Registration / Pre-Race Inspection: Registration – Please register and collect the scrutineering sheet. Once you have registered and had your safety gear inspected proceed to Pre-Race Inspection. Passengers must register and have gear checked
PLEASE NOTE ALL CARS MUST HAVE A 2024 ORANZ TAG, spark arrestors, min 2 x 1kg fire extinguishers and safety triangle.
